The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF), Soccer United Marketing (SUM), the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers and MLS’s San Jose Earthquakes today announced that all tickets have been sold for Saturday’s match between Mexico and Chile (7:00 p.m. PT) in what will be the first-ever international soccer game at the new Levi’s® Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. The game will be televised nationally on UniMás and ESPN3.
Organizers urge fans with tickets to arrive early. Parking lots will open as early as 3 p.m. local time, and stadium gates will open at 5 p.m. Fans are also encouraged to take public transportation.
“Saturday will be a historic night for Levi’s Stadium,” said Julio Fuentes, Executive Director of the Santa Clara Stadium Authority. “Not only are we hosting the first international soccer game at the venue, but we’ll be celebrating with a packed house.”
Both Mexico and Chile participated in the recent 2014 FIFA World Cup, reaching the Round of 16. El Tricolor last visited the Bay Area in 2013, playing Peru to a 0-0 draw at Candlestick Park.
Mexico will be in the Bay Area as part of a two-game road trip through the West. On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Mexico will take on the national team of Bolivia at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Col. (10:00 p.m. ET), home of MLS’ Colorado Rapids. Tickets for that game are still available via Altitudetickets.com or by calling 1-866-461-6556. The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol invites fans to use their Visa cards.
